The Salida Ranger District will be conducting some prescribed burns in Chaffee County. For CT travelers planning to be on segments 13-15 between now and mid-November (exact timing is weather dependent and may happen anytime), please take note of potential trail impacts and temporary closures. This will have impacts along segments 13-15 of the Colorado trail. The closures will mostly affect access to segment 14. Along with potential issues related to smoke in the area, there may be limited access to popular trailheads such as Raspberry Gulch, Brown’s Creek, and the Mt Shavano Trailhead. Make sure to review current conditions with the Pike-San Isabel National Forest before heading out.
