Copper Mountain Resort is doing some snowmaking repairs that will impact the safe travel across Segment 8 of The Colorado Trail.
Segment 8 trail closure and detour scheduled for the week of August 8-12, 2022. Because of this work, this part of the trail will be closed and there will be a detour route to go ahead this section. Copper Mountain plans to start this work Tuesday (August 9) and should be complete in 1 or 2 days. Heading southbound from the start of Segment 8, this detour will head north on the bike path and cross Highway 91 at the stop light then continue along the community path into our center village where it will reconnect with the CT. There will be signage for trail users directing them around the work site. Please see the attached pictures for reference.
