E-bike Regulations on the Colorado Trail

E-bike regulations and access are managed and determined by our Federal Land Management partners. For most of the Colorado Trail, that’s the United States Forest Service (USFS).

The USFS has determined that e-bikes (also known as electric bikes or ebikes) are considered motorized vehicles and are only allowed on motorized trails.

The Colorado Trail Foundation does not determine where e-bikes are allowed, but we are happy to answer questions you may have regarding where e-bikes are prohibited on the Trail.
